Saturn sails was established in 1979 by Colin and Shelia McKenzie and John Highcock. Both Colin and John have over 40 years of sail making experience, and have been sailing a variety of boats since childhood. John is a regular face at keelboat regattas and offshore events both around the UK and further afield with many national, and international titles to his name. Greg Pitt joined the company in 2008 bringing his experience and skills to our sail making team. Greg’s background was mainly in one-design dinghies and small keelboats but is now regularly seen racing keelboats around the UK and Ireland. Colin and Shelia retired in 2012 when Greg became a share-holder and director.

Saturn’s dedicated team of 10 staff are highly trained and come from a variety of sailing backgrounds. When not in the loft many of our team can be spotted on the water!
From our purpose built sail loft in Largs Yacht Haven, Saturn’s aim has, and always will be, to provide a personal service for sails and canvas work that are well designed, manufactured and competitively priced.
While constantly investing in state of the art technology to ensure we are at the forefront of innovative new manufacture techniques, we maintain a solid platform of customer service and attention to detail you would expect from a long established local sail maker.
